Explained simply
Iron Maiden are a British heavy metal band formed in 1975. Blaze Bayley was their lead singer from 1994 to 1999, recording two studio albums with them: The X Factor and Virtual XI. The songs from those years form a distinct part of the band’s history.
Bayley later continued as a solo artist, often performing songs from his time with Iron Maiden. The band’s long career has included several singers, and its current and former members are due to be recognised together by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
