Black Lake Horror Game Announced for PC

IGN · 6 hours ago

Developer Polydin Studio has announced Black Lake, a first-person psychological survival horror game set aboard an abandoned orphanage adrift at sea, coming to PC and consoles. The reveal matters for horror fans as it adds a fresh setting to the genre, combining isolation at sea with unsettling supernatural mystery, and signals another notable indie entry into the crowded survival horror space.

Players take on the role of Elena, who returns to her childhood orphanage after receiving a message from her missing twin sister, Rita, only to find it eerily active despite being supposedly empty. Survival tools include a phone, candles and a lantern, with light playing a key role since some creatures reportedly fear burning wax, alongside ritual-based puzzles and encounters with creatures formed from the orphanage's vanished children and staff. The PC version is due in Winter 2027, with console versions expected to follow in mid-2027, and it can already be wishlisted on Steam.
