9 PS Plus Extra Game Removals for August 2026 Confirmed
Sony has confirmed that nine games will leave the PS Plus Extra tier on 18th August 2026, coinciding with the reveal of this month's new additions to the service. Unlike the Essential tier, where redeemed games remain playable for as long as a subscription continues, Extra and Premium subscribers lose access to departing titles entirely, meaning anyone wanting to keep playing must purchase them outright once they're removed.
The departing line-up includes Earth Defense Force 6, Unicorn Overlord, Harold Halibut, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Dead Island 2, Roki, Onee Chanbara Origin, Bomber Crew and Space Crew, spanning both PS5 and PS4. Unicorn Overlord and Dead Island 2 are flagged as the standout losses, with subscribers given just under a month to finish them before the cut-off date.
