Rahm edges ahead of Hatton & McIlroy in Abu Dhabi
Jon Rahm leads the Abu Dhabi Championship by one shot after a bogey-free six-under-par 66, setting up a final-round contest with Ryder Cup team-mates Tyrrell Hatton and Rory McIlroy. A win would be Rahm’s first individual tournament victory outside LIV since the 2023 Masters, and his first at this championship.
Rahm is 18 under par at Yas Links, with Hatton and Francesco Laporta tied second on 17 under after rounds of 67. McIlroy is fourth on 16 under: despite making 19 birdies over the previous two rounds, a double bogey and another dropped shot left him two back. Adam Scott is fifth at 15 under, while Matthew Jordan and David Puig are on 14 under; Rahm, Hatton and Laporta will play together in the final group.
In short
- Rahm holds a one-shot lead at 18 under.
- Hatton and Laporta are tied second.
- McIlroy is two shots back in fourth.
